Finally we exercise but ....

A lazy Sunday turned up to be an afternoon of exercise for Sandy and I, all thanks to a call from a buddy - Lance.

Lance was always complaining that he played basketball alone and had no other company for his favourite sport. Good timing indeed. We surely needed the exercise.

Lance and I are in a little unhealthy shape with what doctors call a higher than normal count of 'bad cholestrol' aka low density lipoprotein ( LDL ).LDL is an accomplice which sabotages the arteries by forming plagues thus increasing the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

An hour and the half of placing a ball through a ring, Sandy and Lance's wife, Monica decided to stop. Great workout indeed. I was perspiring from the top of my head wetting my shirt and even my boxers. Satisfied. So what's went on after this?

Sandy suggested Hokkien Mee, an unhealthy local dish fried with prawns and squid. Surely not recommended by doctors for people with high LDL.We went ahead anyway. A whopping S$20 Hokkien Mee, S$5 Carrot Cake and another S$5 Oyster omelette. How sinful. Was all the workout even enough to rid of the amount of calories we were about to absorb into our body system? The answer is surely NO. Hokkien Mee, rich with prawns and cuttlefish could easily sum up to 350-400 mg of cholestrol, not forgetting we are entitled only to below 300 mg per day. My, dinner was surely sinful.

Will stick to tuna salad or chicken breast sandwich next time.
