A busy weekend ...

It's been more than a week since I've updated my blog and I'm sure my mum is always looking in to see if there are new photos of the naughty one.

Well, the weekend was a busy one for us as well as for Luca and for my parents too who needed to care for him on Sunday night.

On Saturday, we celebrated Cayden's first birthday at his place followed by a swim. Unfortunately, I did not have my gear with me thus I did not join him in the water if not it'll have been even more fun trying to dunk him underwater.

Thankfully Mun was willing to get himself into the freezing water and help look after Luca.

As usual, Luca wore a smile with him the entire day and amused everyone with his energy. He sure was very active all day.

Sunday was a busy day for me as I helped out at Tsu Jung's wedding. Perhaps I no longer will be part of the groom's men anymore since age is catching up and close friends have all been married. So my career as a brother has ended ... :)

Home soon ....

Entering this blog from Taipei 101 and seated alone in an Austrian cafe enjoying some dessert.

Sandy and friends decided to head right up to the highest level to catch the night view of Taipei. Well, I wasn't keen so that leaves me with no choice but to find some time alone. Ok. I had a choice but this sure is a better option.

Just called home and spoke to my little boy. It was a one way conversation without a response from him. He hasn't really started speaking in proper sentences so maybe that's why. But he should have at least let me hear is voice. I was told he is really upset that Sandy and I left him back in Singapore while we two enjoyed the trip. A petty boy.

Frankly, We miss and worry for him. We hope this vacation of ours will not make him a less cheerful boy in the future or gives him a sense of insecurity that whenever dad and mum leaves with two big bags, they don't return after many days.

I can only assure him that mum and dad will never leave home without him again. At lease One of us will always be there for him. I hope I won't break this promise. It's going to be tough I know.

I'll try hard.

Still missing him ...

Luca cried when he heard my voice ... That saddened me a lot.

Although Sandy and I are enjoying ourselves but when things quiet down a little in the evening and especially about to sleep, we miss that little one.

I hope he won't be angry with us for leaving him alone with his grandparents for such a long week. I was told Luca has been gloomy ....

Let's hope he will cheer up soonest.

Miss him!

Miss that fella ...

Last night Sandy and I slept through the night without Luca in our room. I'll have to say that we both miss him so much.

I wonder how's he doing.

Tried reaching him last night to say good night but my parents must have mistakenly switched off the mains of the home phone.

I wonder if he slept through or even noticed our disappearane.

I wonder if his cough has subsided and the phlegm disolved.

For next vacations, he will join us.

Luca just turned 1...

I still remember clearly the day Luca was born ... Just after a simple Mother's Day dinner and at midnight, Sandy showed signs of labour.

I also remember asking her not to joke as I was already very tired.

Time flies and the little fella turned one a couple of days back and had a birthday party at Macs .... Just like I had mine twenty over years ago.

He's now learnt how to crawl and slowly making progress with walking. In no time, he'll be running.

Parenthood has changed Sandy and I a lot. We now think what's best for the kid .... And of course selfish me very often do things that's best for me while Sandy sacrifices everything else placing Luca as priority.

Well. She has that motherly figure in her after all.

A couple of months back, Sandy and I have decided that we will make a trip overseas without Luca and that happens this weekend. It's the very first time the mother and son will separate for days without seeing one another. Hopefully Luca won't miss her (and me too) much.

So you must wonder what happens to Luca then. Well, his grandparents will babysit him for the six nights we are gone.

Let's hope they'll all cope well. I'm sure they will by hook or by crook.

I've just told Sandy to leave an unwashed pyjamas for my mum to wear because I've read somewhere that little children may miss their mother's scent. I wonder how true but that's quite a funny thought.

Anyway, the week will fly pass as quickly as it always does. Just last week today, we celebrated Luca's birthday at Macs. And trust me, prior to that and on his actual birthday, we found every excuse to celebrate his birthday.

I'm spoiling him. On his birthday, I made a purchase in his name .. Saying it's for him. But likely it's more for me. :)

He looks like mummy ...

On Saturday, we'll be celebrating Luca's first year birthday party at McDonalds.

It is unbelievable that a year has passed us in a blink of an eye.

Just this morning, I woke up with him by my side and took some time to admire this little creation of ours.

As he slept soundly snoring, I had a detailed look at him and realized he has features which resembles his mother especially the nose.

Well I am glad he doesn't look like me because I aren't good looking but I hope he can take after me in personality. The good ones of course while removing the bad ones. :)
