Bristol Day 21 - Part 2
Just returned from a Japanese dinner at Cabot Circus. Not very satisfying but never mind because it was pretty well priced in the lower range so what can I expect.
I managed to slip into the pub next to my serviced apartment and said hello to both the owner and the Rottweiler. They were friendly and we talked a little bit - the owner not the canine. :)
He got me to try tbeir Taunton Cider and it was pretty good or rather very much like many other ciders. Very drinkable. You could have it mixed with orange squash, lemonade or just in its natural form but he told me only the females had it with lemonade.
The pub was filled with both men and women but the men had every sentence with the f$%k word. Very vulgar but they mean no harm. At least that is how I see things but it surely is going to be a nice hangout since I am only one minute walk away from the apartment lobby. I will try to get some local concoction and I remember seeing some people having their alcohol with tabasco. Interesting isn't it? I shall find out more sometime when I visit the pub again.
One more thing I forgot was that the owner (shall find out his name next time) told me about three or four pints of Taunton was enough to get me drunk. I doubted it at first but after the second pint, I could feel the effects of the drink so I will watch out. Not to worry.
So which is better? Hanging out in a pub next door or a casino which requires a 7 pound taxi ride. :)
Photos attached - nuts I bought at Cardiff, Taunton, my udon dor dinner, a used bottle that turned order number at lunch, Doom Bar at lunch.
