Misbehaving very often nowadays, Luca finally tested my patience on Saturday when he decided to throw his toys across the room. The result of such a naughty action - an artwork of red resembling four adult fingers imprinted on his wrists. Both.
I certainly will not tolerate his naughty behaviour nor will I ever give in to his pleading cries for unnecessary attention. He needs to learn and how else will he learn if I spared the rod.
I was just telling Sandy what Luca's birthday present will be. A cane with a red handle since it is likely something I'll use more often thus I decide the color.
He is growing up really quickly and seems to get smarter each day as he learns to use crying to his advantage. (I know some babies who are good at this)
He now wants to walk and I have to admit it worries me when he starts making those few steps on his own because even when he crawls, he does it at lightning speed. We need to have watchful eyes with this little fella if not he'll end up with bruises and cuts all over.
Frankly, like all parents who whack their kids, I too feel lousy having to cause him pain but that seems to be the better option than trying to talk sense to them.
For children of his age, action speaks louder than words but for sure when he starts to understand the difference between words and actions, that'll be the time to reason things out without the need for pain to be inflicted.
The kid will forever be the love of my life.
