Mum turns 60 ..

Mum turns 60 this Thursday and so we decided to do a surprise lunch days before at Bruno Pizzeria.

With the help of my aunt, we tricked mum into joining for lunch. To her astonishment, many familiar faces of relatives and close colleagues greeted her at the restaurant.

I guess mum never been that surprised before. (other than me getting good results in school)

A simple fanfare but I could tell she was embarrassed by the attention yet happy.

Wishing her many happy days and may these happy days treat her with lots of joy and good health.

Back where we belong..

Luca's first trip overseas trip by flight ended as we departed the island last evening.

It surely was an unforgettable trip for us all as we did so many things we never did under usual circumstances. Believe it or not, we were on a midnight train to Mongkok for dessert one of the nights and that was awesome. Luca was fascinated with the ride and observed the many commuters around him.

Thankful for the relatives and friends who patiently played host to us and helped care for my little rascal ( whom everyone thinks he is an angel, this point resembles me a lot cause many others think I too am a nice boy when younger ... Ask my parents and they'll know how bad I was ).

One thing we were really glad was that Luca allowed everyone to carry him. Be it familiar or unfamiliar. He smiles at almost everyone. Just amazing how it'll be when he grows up. An extrovert perhaps.

Didn't do shopping this trip as it sure was inconvenient carrying the little one in crowded HK. What made it worse are the unfriendly street paths that won't tolerate strollers thus the most we did were to hangout at shopping malls.

Foodwise I managed to intake quite a lot of delicious stuff. From highend Teochew porridge to yummy steamboat. From fantastic roast goose to meaty oyster platters. Oh. Not forgetting the wagyu steak and Vietnamese food too. One word - awesome.

Let's hope we can get to visit again in 2012 when Luca gets to walk on his own the streets of Hong Kong.

His first visit to HK

This trip marks the many 'first time' for Luca.

His first time on a plane, first visit to Hong Kong, first time meeting all of his Hong Kong cousins and many more ... but for me, it is also the first time for quite a number of things.

It's the first time he fell alseep in my arms while someone else drives the car.

It's also the first time that I carry a little one on board a plane.

Luca's maiden flight was surely a quiet one. He made no noise as the plane took off and I am just so glad he behaved well on the plane.

Anyway, here are some photos to share. Will update more details later on as I rush off for dinner.

In another month ...

Luca will turn one in May and the party hats are all ready for use.

Luca will celebrate his first birthday at Macs just like me when I was younger.

Yes. I was very fortunate. Until the age of 21, I had birthday parties annually.

From simple BBQ to hotel buffet dinners I had it all. I was pampered into having the better things. Spoilt by my parents thus it is my turn to pass it on and Luca is there to be spoilt by many people around.

As I type this entry, Luca stands screaming at the top of his lungs trying to grab my attention but I aren't giving it.




At times he can be very adorable, other times he surely is a naughty brat just like me. He knows who are easy targets who'll fall prey to his cries and who are those who won't be bothered by his screams. I am one of those who fall in the category who cares less.
